Finding street art using google maps

streetartbansky
streetartlocator.com
Neat idea. =) Nobody put anything in Vienna yet though..

Incredibly impressive street art by Evol.

caspar-david-friedrich-stadt by evoldaily.

Stencils by Evol, in Dresden.

The location for this 'city' is a 10m x 8m hole in an abandoned warehouse floor; the concrete shapes are "probably the former foundation of a huge boiler plant to derive soap from rendered beef fat or other utilization of carcass. however, even 15 years after closing down, it still smells nauseous."

Look at more amazing stencils on his website, and Flickr.

360 Video Recording

ybcamera

Looking at yellowBird, the video that records in 360 makes a photo 360 view look pretty one dimensional. With the video demo all a person has to do is press play and move the cursor in the direction that they want to see. There’s six lenses mounted on a tripod that captures an amazing view in motion that I’ve never seen before. While reading about the technology, another impressive aspect of the camera is that it records sound in 360 too.Tons of potential to do great things with the service. Imagine what could be done with this camera and augmented reality…

There's an actual political Pirate Party?

File:Piratpartiet.svg
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirate_Party
The third biggest party in Sweden. Wow. But then again, The Pirate Bay comes from that land, so don't be too surprised. In fact, the notorious Pirate Bay trials actually boosted the party's membership, which is currently over 50,000. The Pirate Party even has one seat in the European Parliament! Wooot?

From the all-knowing Wikipedia:
The Pirate Party’s declaration of principles outlines their political positions relative to Swedish law. The current version is V 3.2. Their current principles include:

* Overall: ”Promoting global legislation to facilitate the emerging information society”
* Copyright: “We claim that today’s copyright system is unbalanced” Hence their position that file sharing (e.g. music) should be decriminalized.
* Patent: “Privatized monopolies are one of society’s worst enemies.” Hence their position that patents are obsolete and should be gradually done away with. Regarding patents on pharmaceuticals, the Pirate Party proposes increasing government support for R&D to make up for loss of private R&D if there were no patent protection for innovation.
* Personal Privacy: “All attempts to curtain these rights (e.g. privacy) must be questioned and met with powerful opposition.” Hence their position that anti-terror laws nullify due process and run the risk of being used as repressive tools.
There's even an international movement, including a (kind of failed) Piratenpartei Österreichs. Lolz.

I use.. #3:

Vuze.

http://download.cnet.com/i/bto/20081017/Vuze_4.0_search_540x391.jpg

The best bittorrent app availabe. Free. Mac or PC. An integrated search system allows you to crawl multiple torrent sites including mininova and btjunkie. (Sadly, pirate bay is no more.)

Say goodbye to googling, or using torrents.to, which was my previous method. =)

Vuze also has an HD Network community thing, which I don't usually use, although it is useful if you feel the need to download music videos, movie trailers, and such. On the other hand, illegal films and shows can be downloaded using the normal search bar.

If you're really bored, and have nothing to do, check out the swarm option, where you see a visual animation of individual file parts coming in to your computer from different seeders..
